WHAT TO EXPECT ON THE CRUISE |
Family Caregivers do not always know what to expect on these cruises. So, we have included a video on our website which may better help you understand what we offer ( click here to view the video). With the shorter cruises, Guest Speakers offer short workshops and presentations on a variety of caregiving topics. They also offer facilitated caregiver support group meetings and simple meditation exercises as a part of their respite cruise program. Of course, there will be “homework” after each workshop.
Sample Homework - Day 1
1. Relax by the pool
2. Write in your Stress Journal
3. Play Bingo

This is a FUN group for caregivers and friends of caregivers. EVERYTHING is optional. If you need a massage MORE than you need a support group meeting, by all means, get the massage!

BRINGING THE CARE RECEIVER
Many caregivers have asked us if they can bring the person they are caring for with them on the cruise. The cruise is just for caregivers and their non-caregiver friends. It is not intended for care receivers and we do not offer care services during the cruise. While we have offered this in the past, we found that when the care receiver travels with the caregiver, the caregiver does not get the respite they need (in fact, they may find that it is even more work being a caregiver onboard than caregiving at home in a familiar environment.
